A Summer Meditative Journey Towards Renewal: Healing the Places of Darkness and Exile
with Yocheved Sheila Katz
What better time to deepen our spiritual practice than with the Jewish holidays of summertime! Summertime Jewish holidays may sound like an oxymoron but they present a unique space for healing. There are the three weeks of mourning from middle of Tamuz through Tisha b'Av followed by 7 weeks of consolation that prepare us for renewal during the High Holidays. The summer holidays give us the safety and structure to delve into and emerge from the places of darkness and exile in our souls and in the world. Join us for a 4 week course using the contemplative practices of silent meditation and chant to examine the spiritual challenges and blessings offered to us at the intersection between this moment in the Jewish calendar and this moment in our lives.

Hitbodedut: In Preparation for Life
Day-long retreat with Seth Castleman
There are insights and transformations only possible in the stillness of retreat. Through the Jewish ages, sages and seekers have stepped out of the busyness of their lives and practiced meditation and contemplative prayer. In our tradition this is not an escape from the world, but a training for being an effective, wholesome part of the world.
The day will include silent sitting, walking and eating meditations as well as contemplative prayer. Teachings and instructions will be provided and individual sessions with the teacher will be available. Appropriate for beginner and experienced meditators.

| What is Jewish Enlightenment? A Shabbat & Tu B'Shevat Afternoon Retreat
Led by Jay Michaelson
The Tu B'Shevat Seder was originated by Kabbalists who sought to experience redemption not as a historical event but as an immediate experience. They believed that it was possible to experience a state of messianic consciousness, and created new rituals and practices to attain it.
This afternoon -- a time of day the Kabbalists said was most favorable to spiritual awakening -- we will work with Kabbalistic contemplation, inquiry into the nature of nonduality, dialogue, and mindfulness meditation to explore and perhaps experience awakened nonduality ourselves.
We will ask the question of "what is Jewish enlightenment" and explore how the answer differs from enlightenment in other traditions.
Who knows, we might meet God...
